Mad Science carried out their exciting 'Grime Scene Investigation' for United Utilities. They carried out spectacular experiments, first demonstrating how strong baby wipes are and the problems they can cause when flushed down the toilet and then showed us how oils and fats can clog up our under ground pipes. By the end we understood how we can all help to maintain a healthy water and sewage system.
Year 3 talked to the children at Newton International Academy in a city called Doha in Qatar via a video call. They asked lots of questions and discovered lots of interesting facts about each others schools.
Year 4 had their first Fit2Go session yesterday. They were visited by Antony from Blackpool Football Club who over the next 6 weeks will be teaching the children all about healthy lifestyles and the affect that living healthily has on our bodies. Yesterday, year 4 enjoyed ladder drills, dancing and setting their own personal health goals.
Our Police Cadets visited the new Police Headquarters and met Guild and Gisburn, two of the fantastic horses that work hard for the mounted division. They learnt about the great work they do and how they help keep our community safe. Thanks to the Mounted Division for giving up their time to talk to us and Blackpool Police for once again organising this amazing opportunity.
Reception & nursery children are enjoying learning how to ride with our special balance bikes. Balance bikes don't have any pedals, so children only have to focus on balancing. This makes the learning process easier and gives them confidence, helping them transition more naturally to regular bikes.
Our Learning Garden care packages were gratefully received by the Streetlife charity who help vulnerable & homeless young people in Blackpool.
Our 'Always' superstars, selected by their teachers for always getting it right, enjoyed festive fun, food and gifts in our Headteacher's superstar tea party. Poppy also joined in the fun.
Our choir and Poppy helped open the Revoe Park Ranger's exciting Fairy Trail event yesterday evening.
Year 6 had a lovely festive morning yesterday at Park Community Academy, singing and signing Christmas Songs in front of upper primary pupils and staff with the amazing PCA Brass Band.
After their Christmas tea party a very special visitor flew in from the North Pole bearing gifts for our Nursery children.
