Children from year 5 and 6 visited a careers event held at Blackpool Pleasure Beach where they learnt more about different occupations and what choices they needed to make to achieve their dream job.

With help from expert creators from Revoelution, Year 5 have been working together to design and build interesting and unusual shapes for their lanterns ready for Thursday's Winter Festival and spectacular lantern parade around Revoe park.
Year three kicked off their Scavengers and settlers topic by building shelters. It was lots of fun and we considered what it was like to live in the Stone Age.
As part of our IPC topic ‘Feel the Force,’ we designed and made marble runs from recycled rubbish donated from home. We used these to discover different types of forces involved in a marble run. We had loads of fun selecting and building with our materials.
This week we have been busy exploring different shapes. We have been drawing shapes and thinking what they look like. On Thursday, we enjoyed going on a "Shape Walk" where we walked around the school looking for shapes that had been hidden.
Our Revoe and Devonshire Primary Academy police cadets were joined by the mounted branch and learn about how they are used within the police force.
With the help of the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, year 2 learnt about the importance of smoke alarms and through role play, what to do in the event of a fire.
We have been very busy getting ready for Christmas at Nursery. We have decorated our Christmas tree, had a visit from Father Christmas and made gingerbread biscuits. We have also had fun dancing to lots of Christmas songs and reading Christmas stories. We hope you all have a very happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
Yesterday evening our Choir celebrated Christmas singing festive carols in Revoe Park and enjoyed by an audience of parents and local residents.
In RE, Year 4 have been learning about the symbolism of light within Christianity. They all made a Christingle orange and were learning about the significance of each part of the orange and what they represent.
