Would you 'edam' and eve it!! Year 4 discovered scrumptious cheese and delicious ice cream at the Dewlay and Wallings factories. They have been learning about changes in state and how we can change liquids into solids. Earlier in the week they had a ‘grate’ time making their own cheese and they saw the procedure for real in a fascinating tour of the Dewlay factory. Later they visited the Wallings factory where they saw the processes and materials involved in making ice cream. After a scientific taste testing, their cheesy grins says it all - we love Walling's ice-cream and Dewlay's cheese!
Year 4 made their own cheese in science. We heated milk and added acid (lemon juice). The milk coagulated into cheese. We will learn even more about the process on our trip to the cheese factory on Thursday.
