The mobile farm visited Revoe and children were able to get up close to the animals and learn about hens, ducks, sheep, goats, cows, rabbits and even a huge pig. Everyone had great fun seeing and touching these fabulous animals whilst they enjoyed the beautiful spring sunshine. The farm animal theme continued at our arts & craft event in our Children's Centre.
On Tuesday, 60 Year 5 and Year 6 children represented Revoe at Blackpool Football Club's 'Show Racism the Red Card' Event. A workshop was provided where the team discussed with the children about racism and how we can all support the message of kicking racism out! A powerful educational film was also shown, which taught the children how to be tolerant and respectful. The children also met the manager of BFC as well as one of their star players, Nathan Delfouneso.
Keep your eyes peeled for your favourite character in our World Book Week potato competition. We had some smashing entries with lots of effort put in and no couch potatoes. A winner from each year group chose a book for a prize and the overall prize went to Olivia with a creepy Chitty Chitty Bang Bang child catcher character.
It's music to our ears! 3EG are enjoying learning the Ukulele and getting to grips with the correct way to hold it and strum with their thumbs.
Reception have enjoyed a day out at Lytham park today. The activities throughout the day linked to the world around us and reading. We took part in a story circle, searched for natural treasures in a scavenger hunt and had fun playing parachute games.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge came to Blackpool and met with our Nursery & Reception children during a visit to Revoe Park to find out how the area has been renovated and improved.
To continue to promote the children's interest in stories and rhymes, we arranged a visit to the library. We chose some books and checked them out. We will enjoy looking at the books we chose during the Nursery sessions before taking them back to the library when we next visit.
