In RE, Year 4 have been learning about the symbolism of light within Christianity. They all made a Christingle orange and were learning about the significance of each part of the orange and what they represent.

Year 4 worked with Mr Hart - a published poet - who helped them develop voluminous vocabulary to create perfectly polished and pleasingly personalised poetry.

In an outdoor enrichment activity a group of year 4 children visited the Beacon Fell nature reserve. They built dens, played hide and seek and explored the nature trails of the forest where they discovered strange statues. They look like they had great fun!

Year 4 are having a fantastic time discovering the lake district in sunny Bowness-on-Windermere. They comandeered the SS Revoe for a boat trip on the lake and enjoyed the lakeside play areas. Poppy, our therapy dog joined them on the trip and enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine.

Year 4 learnt about beats and rhythm with Mr Hughes of the band The Dead Beats and demonstrated what they had learnt in a lively assembly. Mr Hughes also gave a loud and inspiring musical performance alongside our very accomplished drummer and teacher - Mr Moss.

Year 4's International Festival has begun with great fun to be had on our bouncy castle, carnival games, arts & crafts and lots more. Later year 4 gave an energetic dance performance in front of parents with dance styles from around the world.

Year four enjoyed going to the Fit to Go Festival on Tuesday. They played football, netball and did athletics with many other schools. Behaviour and sportsmanship was very good. Well done year four for representing our school well.

Year 4 had a great day at Stannah Estuary, from map reading, creating dens, playing on the adventure park and doing The Floss. The children and staff had an amazing day and were a credit to RLA with their outstanding behaviour!!
