During White ribbon week, year 3 have been discussing how we can use kind hands instead of hurting each other and made our own kind hands and how we use them.

Year three have done fantastically well learning to retell the first part of Pinocchio. We made up actions and also showed where the punctuation goes. We will be writing folk tales this half term.

Year 3 are doing 'Talk for Writing' on Jack and the Beanstalk. The children were very good at correcting punctuation!

We tasted lots of food from the Mediterranean. Most of us were brave and tried all of them - sardines, olives, bread, vine tomatoes, chorizo and cous cous!

Year 3 went to study different types of rocks at Rossall point. They also got to see inside the lifeguard watch tower and learned about the radars and equipment used.

Year 3 have had a discussion about whether Stig of the Dump should be allowed to come and live in a house. This morning they found that Stig had made a den in the school! He'd made a mess, burning things and leaving bones behind.

Year three went to the Revoe garden and re-enacted the story, the Tunnel by Anthony Browne. We then did some great descriptive writing about the settings.

Year 3 have been making volcanoes and thinking about the Madagascan habitat.
In English they have been reading the story "The Tunnel" by Anthony Browne and they will be writing their own adventure stories.
